Lecturing and Listening

I believe that women and men both have the equal opportunity to speak and listen to each other. I also that men are naturally more dominant than women because of the past events with wars and just the role of being a man. "Men hold and attain information so later in a conversation they can hold the center of the attention and be the dominant one in the conversation". I truly don't believe that men purposely hold information so they can feel like they are in power and have control of the conversation. I think that statement is to broad because not all males do that at all.
I grew up with my two older sisters, my mom, and my dog who happens to be a female also. We were all brought up in a competitive and controlling environment. My sisters are both athletes that have fought against me since i was little for control over any situation. My sister Alyssa who is the closet one in age by a year is the most controlling person i have ever met. We would fight and compete against each other in athletics, video games, conversation, and knowledge we do still to this day. I believe that this dominant theory would be based on how each individual in brought up in life. My sister who is female always tries to control whats going on i believe that this is because of how we were brought up. I will admit that i like to be in power and feel dominant over others in situations. But i will always give the person the opportunity to speak and hold there own. I will respect that person and listen to their side of their story with out a doubt. But my sister who is a great person will never give me or any other person regardless if male or female the chance to fight against her opinion in a conversation. I believe that she is like this because she is a confident and determined women who is looking to succeed in life not because she wants to be dominant.
I believe that women and men both have the right to speak and listen in a conversation. I agree that for the majority men will try to hold the dominance in a conversation. But i disagree that men do this just so they can feel like they are higher and more powerful than women. I believe that this dominate nature of conversation is determined by how that individual was brought up in there family and how that individual was taught to respect and listen to others.
